Introduction
The goal of Dignity for the Aged is to organize and sustain a powerful consumer voice to ensure that all individuals and communities can influence the local, state, and national decisions that improve the conditions in our Long Term-Care facilities. To do that, each Dignity chapter must grow in membership and it’s important that we find leadership to organize new chapters in all states/provinces. Without the power of a considerable number of informed and organized consumers, even the best pro-consumer policy agenda will often fail. Here are some beginning steps that will help set you up for success in building your Chapter - where you can find members, how to connect with your community and form strong ties with others who can help get t he word out for those residents who need us to speak for t hem. Provide A Voice: Dignity for the Aged
Come have some fun at the Poquoson Seafood Festival. Dignity for the Aged is getting the word out and you can help. Just stop by our booth and spin the wheel and win a prize, bring Grandma or Grandpa along too. There are so many food vendors, you won't go hungry, and plenty of activities for the kids. Dignity will have cards they can decorate and put them in the Dignity mail box so they will be ready to bring a smile to a resident and let them know we are thinking of them! We will also have brochures you can share with your friends with helpful information about nursing homes - so you KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!
